About the artist: Vadim Petrovich Karpov (1931-2014) - Soviet and Russian painter. Vadim Karpov was born on September 25, 1931 in the village of Volchiy Vrag (now part of the Penza region). The artist V.P. Karpov most of his life. lived and worked in the city of Kostroma. Vadim Petrovich received his art education at the Kostroma Art School (he studied from 1955 to 1959) - a student of the artist Nikolai Pavlovich Shlein. He took part in art exhibitions since 1959, since 1967 Karpov was a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. Most often, the artist painted portraits of Kostroma residents, as well as paintings on a patriotic theme. In the last years of his life, the artist painted mainly landscapes. Vadim Petrovich Karpov died on June 3, 2014 in Moscow. The works are in private and state collections of the Russian Federation and other states.
