About the artist: Born on November 23, 1924, in the village of Markovtsy, Khmelnitsky region. Graduated from the Kharkov Art School (1951). Teachers in the specialty: V. Mironenko, A. Safargalin. Painter and graphic artist. Works in the field of composition on the Shevchenko theme, psychological expressive portraits. In painting, the inherent feeling of major and life-affirming, lyrical, using the traditions of realism and the achievements of impressionism. Depicting the nature of the forest-steppe zone of Ukraine, he painted iconostases for the church. Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (1998). Honored Artist of Ukraine (2007). He was awarded the Order of Carl Faberge, III degree. Belongs to the Kharkov school of realist artists. Participated in exhibitions since 1954. Major works: "I am tormented, tormented, but I do not repent" (1961), "Poetess N. Kharasailo" (2000), "Hetman Mazepa" (2000), "T. Shevchenko "(1961); psychological expressive portraits: “I.
